  Worst food I've ever had in Charleston. Wife and I both ordered their King Street Steak Sandwich. Gravy in sandwich was extremely salty which made it difficult to eat. I ordered ice tea and the tea tasted salty as well. When I brought this to the servers attention he checked the tea and admitted that there was something wrong. They ended up cleaning out the tea container. I'm giving JohnKing 2 stars, not 1, only because the manager did adjust our bill and only charge us for one sandwich. Too many good restaurants to waste your money here.

  Heres the deal for our experience.
  Waiter seated my wife at 11:50, I get there at noon, waiter gives me water and takes our order. Comes back to check on how the bill would be split at 12.50 (he hadn't checked on us the entire time and he had no clue we hadn't even gotten our food and he's trying to bring the bill?) Customer service does not seem to be important here.
  (I don't think he ever entered our original order in the register and it seemed he had juggled to many tables)
  He did offer to comp our food and offered to have it made right away. Because we were already late for our next meeting, we agreed and had the food in 15 min. Classic burger, patty melt and a Chicago dog.

  Ordered through Quickfoxes, so I can't comment on the service or the atmosphere. But I had an amazing burger! A little too much bleu cheese, so I was unable to eat all of it. But that bacon and hamburger bun was amazing. I recommend it. :-)

  *Review of JohnKing* Now under new management, no longer a pasta place downtown. The food is primarily sandwiches, Burgers and hot dogs. I went in expecting pasta, but the closest thing to it was Mac and cheese. My first thought was "great, another burger place, just what downtown needs" but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Carolina burger, and their chili and beer cheese was really good. I'm hardly a chili connoisseur so take me saying I liked the chili with a grain of salt, but being reasonably priced in a good part of town it's definitely worth a visit. The mac and cheese was good too.
  
  Second visit edit- not sure how difficult "no coleslaw" is. I guess that's what happens when you put a bouncer as a host and waiter. After sending back my order twice for being incorrect, I just gave up. Had to take off a star for lack of consistency. I can understand that's part of adjustment but if you want to be successful through a transition, make it as smooth as possible please.
